Basic measures to protect against the discharge of static
electricity
Make sure the grounding is good
When working with electronically endangered components, make sure the person,
the workstation and packaging are properly grounded. This is how you can avoid
static.
Avoid direct contact
Never touch electrostatically sensitive devices if this can be avoided (e.g. during
maintenance work). When you touch modules, make sure that you do not touch
either the pins on the components or the printed conductor. If you follow these in-
structions, electrostatic discharge cannot reach – or damage – sensitive compo-
nents.
If you have to take measurements on a module, make sure that you first discharge
any static that may have accumulated in your body. To do this, touch a grounded
metal object. Only used grounded measuring instruments.
