Modifications from version 01 to version 2.X of Tool Management for SINUMERIK 840
and SINUMERIK 840C.
The following functions have either been improved in version 03 or are new additions.
Cycles
The cycle messages (load/unload via tape) are stored as an alarm file on
the diskette. These alarms must be transferred to the UMS. This makes it
possible to display alarms even on cycle inhibit.
As from NC software version 6.1, a program error is output if the
command "@714" is not programmed alone in a block. The tool
management cycles have been adapted to this.
The P0 memory is now available to the user for his own use.
Operating
The milling example is now available in WS 800 A format.

Functions
Back-up on tape
With FB 120 and cycle L944 it is now possible to back up the data for
when unloading
individual tools or all the tools of a selected magazine on tape during tool
tools
unloading. A loading program is generated with which the tool or tools can
again be loaded into the magazine (see also Section 2; operating
example).
Cartridge
It is now possible, via loading and unloading lists, to signal the arrival of
handling
transport cartridges to a machine magazine and to load/unload them (see
also Section 2).
Presetting
This function supports cartridge handling. With the FX8 it is now possible
of tool size
to set the tool size via the cartridge number in the magazine.
via EPROM
Delete
With the user command D 70.7, it is now possible to delete the magazine
magazine
for which this bit is set.
Symm. search
It is now possible to search for empty locations symmetrically (s. FB 112).

Altern. search
The search sequence is selected in PLC MD m + 10, bit 5.

Tool size
Tool management now supports tool sizes 1.1 to 7.7 (and any intermediate
combinations in the case of asymmetrical tools).
Expansion of
(Applies to NC software version 6.1 only)
local buffer
More machine data are available for tool management as from software
memory
version 6.1. It has therefore been possible to increase the size of the local
tool buffer memory (see also Section 10).
Simulation
Block FX7 enables D numbers for "Simulation" support.
Tool life/
It is now possible to enter the values for tool life and number of parts
Number of parts
from P memory P8 when monitoring tool life and number of parts.
