Time Setup
The integrated date/clock management enables the exact timely assignment of events e.g., those in the
operational messages and fault messages or in the lists of the minimum/maximum values.
Functional Description
The time can be influenced by
•
internal RTC (Real Time Clock)
•
external synchronization sources (e.g. DCF77, IRIG B)
•
external minute pulses via binary input.

NOTE
Upon delivery of the device the internal clock RTC is always set by default as synchronization source,
regardless of whether the device is equipped with a system interface or not. If the time synchronization is
to use an external source, this must be selected.
The procedure for changing the synchronization source is described in detail in the SIPROTEC 4- System
Description.
