Communication via Ethernet
22.06.2012
6.1.1 Commissioning notes
The devices must be fully commissioned on the KNX network, i.e. addressing, custo-
mized texts, bus supply, etc., before commissioning the web server OZW775. See
document P3127.
For commissioning, you must distinguish between a web server OZW775 on a private
network (LAN) or a corporate network (intranet) with or without connection to the
Internet.
Another criterion is whether you want the web server OZW775 to send e-mails to an
internal mail server or to connect to an external mail server via the Internet.
Steps to commission the web server OZW775 via Ethernet on a LAN or intranet:
•
Contact your network administrator.
•
Configure the web server.
•
Configure the internal mail server.
•
Configure router.
•
Test and diagnosis.
Steps to commission the web server OZW775 via Ethernet with connection to the
Internet:
•
Contact your network administrator.
•
Configure the web server.
•
Configure the external mail server, information from the Internet Service Provider.
•
Configure the router.
•
Register DynDNS.
•
Test and diagnosis.
Configure the IP address for the web server (central communication unit) on a local port
and on one or several public ports.
The local port is used for the web server's outgoing data, and the public port (one or
several ports) for incoming data e.g. from the Internet or the web browser. For more
information on the ports, see Section 7.2.2, "Port forwarding".
You need a crossed Ethernet cable to connect the web server OZW775 to a PC/laptop.
You need a straight Ethernet cable to connect the web server OZW775 to a router,
switch or hub.
