Basic rules
The operating states “manned” and “unmanned” are defined in a SPECIAL Alarm Concept,
where signals from automatic fire detectors and manual call points are processed differently (for
details
page 16).
The switchover from the operating states “manned” to “unmanned” and vice versa is either done
manually by the operating personnel or automatically as programmed by the service engineer.
Operating state “manned”
The operating person, responsible for the surveillance of the system and the alarm investiga-
tion, is present
on the premises.

Manual switching between the operating states “manned” and “unmanned” is only possible
during defined working hours (
page 14, Automatic switchover).

“manned” (yellow LED is on) and “unmanned” (yellow LED is off).
