Serial interface X4
Serial interface X4
The serial interface is designed as 9-pin D-sub miniature male connector.
The interface can be operated in the two following standards:

RS-232
or
●
RS-485
You specify the standard to be used with the configuration in STEP 7, see section Advanced
options (Page 67).
You will find the pinout of the interface in the section Pin assignment of the serial interface
(Page 296).
2.3.3
X80: External power supply
External power supply
The connector X80 (socket) for the external 24 VDC power supply is located on the front of
the TIM.
The power supply is connected to the TIM with the supplied plug-in terminal block. The plug-
in terminal block is designed so that it can only be plugged in in one position in the X80
socket of the TIM.
The connector X80 has electronic reverse polarity protection.
