6.3 ACTIONS TO CONFIGURE A FREESTANDING OTU
This section describes typical sequence of operations to be carried out when
configuring a freestanding UTMC OTU.
6.3.1 Putting the OTU onto the Network
As for semi-integral OTU - see section 6.2.1.
6.3.2 Configuring the OSS and IP Gateway
As for semi-integral OTU - see section 6.2.2.
6.3.3 Importing the CSV file
As for semi-integral OTU - see section 6.2.3.
6.3.4 Configuring the controller serial link
1. Go to the Status Config web page and select the Controller Serial Link Screen
(see section 6.6.5 for screenshot).
2. De-select ‘Enable Semi-Integral Link to Siemens Controller’
3. Select the correct baud rate for the controller from the pull-down list.
4. Save the settings.
5. To check the link, start a handset session either via Telnet or direct terminal
connection; then type in XXC and once connected, type in the controller
commands and check for the expected response.
6. If there is no response, unplug the outstation from the controller and start a direct
terminal connection to the controller. Check the baud rate with that selected on
the Controller Serial Link Screen.
7. Some controller require use of an alternative variant serial cable with part
number 667/1/26579/001 (C3000 & TLC) or 667/1/26579/001 (Microsense).
