sensor)
via a socket (EG) at the rear or connection cable
(TGL); pin/cable connections are to be made as
indicated above.
5. Commissioning
Five membrane keys on the front panel are used
for programming and operation of the display.
First use of MA01/1 after installation
Use key ON/OFF to switch on the display.
MA01/1 runs an auto test sequence and shows
the following values:
• all LED segments (for approx. 1,5 s)
• the software version (eg. 1_20)
• value 0 – now the display is ready for use!
Attention ! MA01/1 does not automatically switch
on when the operating voltage is applied. In case
of interference and failure, please read the infor-
mation given in chapter „Trouble shooting“. Plea-
se never try to open the unit. Any repairs should
only be carried out at our works.
Display modes
There are 3 operating modes (for programming
please read chapter 8 ‘Parameter description’):
• Active mode
Standard mode for measurement and display of
the measured values. The display can optionally
be programmed to switch off after a certain
period and to change to stand-by or sleep mode.
• Stand-by mode
A certain period after the last measurement the
display switches off (darkens). This helps to
reduce power consumption and prolong the life-
time of the batteries/accumlators. The display is
reactivated as soon as the sensor moves or by
pressing key
—> active...
• Sleep mode
After the last measurement the display switches
off completely. Power consumption of the batte-
ries/accumulators is reduced to a minimum.
Press key "ON/OFF" to reactivate the display.
The display can be completely switched on/off,
if it is temporarily not needed:
• Switch-off
Press key "ON/OFF".
• Switch-on —> Active mode
Press key "ON/OFF".
Attention ! Before disrupting power supply press
key "ON/OFF" to switch off the display and to
guarantee a correct function of the last value
memory!
Battery / accumulator operation
Batteries or accumulators can be any standard
type of series 'Mignon' AA (R6), eg. VARTA
Accuplus NiCd, 1,2 V cell voltage, 750 mAh, no.
5006.
To guarantee an adequate lifetime of the display
MA01/1, the capacity of the accumulators should
be at least 750 mAh. Please remember that
accumulators discharge during storage or if they
are not used for a long period!
The accumulator box should be mounted at a
‘cold’ site: heat accelerates the self-discharge of
batteries/accumulators.
Attention ! Respect operation supply range.
Batteries/accumulators are not automatically
supplied together with the MA01/1, but must be
ordered separately (eg. SIKO AKKU03).
To charge fitted accumulators use jack plug
(included) to connect rear socket (shown below)
to a suitable battery charger (eg. SIKO LG03).
Batteries can be charged during operation.
