Thank you for choosing Silva Explore headlamp. This extra durable
and water proof headlamp is designed for use in rough environme-
nts.
The Explore headlamp is equipped with Intelligent Light® which is a
light distribution technology that combines a wide angle flood light
with a long reach spot light. This unique light image gives the user
peripheral and long distance vision at the same time.
RED AND ORANGE LIGHT
Red light – Perfect for preserving night vision.
Orange light – Perfect for map reading while still preserving night
vision.

The Explore headlamp consists of the following parts:

BEFORE USE
ADJUST THE HEADBAND
The elastic headband with anti-slip rubber on the inside is designed
to give a comfortable fit at all times. Adjust the headband by moving
the sliding buckle to fit it onto your head.
INSERT THE BATTERIES
Open the battery lid on the right hand side of the lamp body. Insert
the AA battery. Either Alkaline (included), NiMH or Lithium batteries
can be used. For operation in temperatures below -10ºC, Lithium
batteries will give significantly longer burn time. Please note the
battery polarity.
If you don’t intend to use the headlamp for several months, make
sure you remove the battery from the lamp.
DURING USE
SWITCH ON YOUR HEADLAMP
On the side of the headlamp there is a push button that controls the
different light modes.
Available light modes: White light Max/Min/Blink, Red and Orange
White light
When the headlamp is OFF:
Short press (<1s.) – starts the headlamp in Max mode
Next short press – Min mode
Next short press – Blink mode
Next short press – back to Max mode
Long press (>1s.) – turns the headlamp off
Red and Orange light
When the headlamp is OFF:
Long press (>1s.) – starts the headlamp in Red mode
Next short press – Orange mode
Next short press – back to Red mode
Long press (>1s.) – turns the headlamp off
From each light mode you can turn the headlamp off with a long
press (more than one second).
HELMET/BELT CLIP
The included clip is used ether as a helmet attachment or a clip for
example your belt or straps etc.
Mount the clip to your helmet using the included double adhesive
tape.
To mount the headlamp to the clip you simply push the headlamp
into the clip. To release the headlamp form the clip you push on the
release area and at the same time pull the headlamp out of the clip.
BATTERY STATUS INDICATION
When the headlamp is turned off a small LED starts to blink inside
the front of the headlamp to indicate the status of the batteries. This
indication will be on for 5 seconds. Please note that this indication is
valid for Alkaline batteries only.
Blinking Green light – Battery in good condition
Blinking Orange – Medium
Blinking Red – Battery in poor condition
AFTER USE
MAINTENANCE
To make sure you get maximum performance from your Explore
headlamp, clean it regularly with a damp cloth to ensure that the
product is free from dirt.
To wash the headband – rinse in warm water.
PROTECTING THE ENVIRONMENT
Headlamp, batteries and packaging are recyclable. Please dispose
these items at designated recycling stations

Silva warrants that, for a period of two (2) years, your Silva product
will be substantially free of defects in materials and workmanship
under normal use. Silva’s liability under this warranty is limited to
repairing or replacing the product. This limited warranty extends
only to the original purchaser.
If the product proves defective during the warranty period please
contact the original place of purchase. Make sure to have your proof
of purchase on hand when returning the product. Returns cannot
be processed without the original proof of purchase. This warranty
does not apply if the product has been altered, not been installed,
operated, repaired, or maintained in accordance with instructions
supplied by Silva, or has been subjected to abnormal physical or
electrical stress, misuse, negligence or accident. Neither does the
warranty cover normal wear and tear. Silva is not responsible for any
consequences, direct or indirect, or damage resultant from use of
this product. In no event will Silva’s liability exceed the amount paid
by you for the product. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion
or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above
limitation or exclusion may not apply to you. This warranty is valid
