Sling Application Continued:

Attach the shoulder straps to the spreader bar of the lift, 

again, ensuring that corresponding colored loops are 

used on either side.

Attach the leg straps to the spreader bar of the lift, 

ensuring that corresponding colored loops are used  

on either side.

Once you are happy that all straps are correctly and 

securely attached to the spreader bar of the lift and the 

patient’s arms are located outside the sling, the transfer 

can begin. 

NB. After you have initially raised your client about 

6” re-tighten the buckle belt if necessary to give 

additional support.
