Clean all exterior surfaces and the power cable with a slightly moist cloth.
Always dry the appliance properly before using it again. For stubborn soiling
use a mild detergent on the cloth. Ensure that there is no detergent residue
on or in the appliance before using it again.
In the event of scale deposits:
Scale deposits on the bottom of the appliance lead to increased energy con-
sumption and reduce the service life of the appliance.
Descale the appliance as soon as scale deposits become apparent.

Before descaling, remove the scale fi lter insert

(see chapter "Inserting/
removing scale fi lter insert").
■
Use a descaler that is designed for household appliances (e.g. coff ee ma-
chines). Proceed as described in the usage instructions for the descaling agent.
■
After descaling, rinse the appliance out with plenty of fresh water.
Inserting/removing the scale fi lter insert
1) Open the lid

2) Press lightly from the inside against the catch in the upper middle section and
pull the scale fi lter insert

out.
3) Clean the scale fi lter insert

with a slightly moistened dishcloth and under
running water.
4) After cleaning, replace the scale fi lter insert

. Ensure that the catch engages
and that the scale fi lter insert
8
is fi rmly seated.
NOTE
►
If the scale deposits in the scale fi lter insert

have solidifi ed, place the
fi lter in a solution of 6 parts water to 1 part vinegar for a few hours. The
scale deposits will dissolve. Rinse the scale fi lter insert
8
with plenty of
clear water.
Storage
■
Let the appliance cool down completely before putting it into storage.
■
Wind the power cable around the cable retainer beneath the base

■
Store the appliance in a dry location.
