These can actually ignite when
heating and cause a risk of fire.
Never mix different fats/oils or
old and new fat/oil.
Fully melt solid fat before use.
Note:
The oil may be heated
at least up to 200 °C. Make
sure the oil is resistant to high
temperature.
If oil catches fire, it must never
be extinguished with water be-
cause this would lead to a ex-
plosion. You shall extinguish the
fire by putting the lid onto the
product or with a fire or woolen
blanket.
During heating and frying, the
lid
1
must be closed to avoid
splash of the hot oil.
Splashes of oil may occur
during heating and frying.
Unplug the product after use or
before cleaning.
Before first use
Remove all the packaging materials.
Clean the product (see “Cleaning and care”).
Low-acrylamide cooking
Acrylamide is a possibly carcinogenic substance
formed from a reaction with amino acids when
frying foodstuffs with a high starch content. The
formation of acrylamide increases dramatically at
temperatures of more than 175 °C.
You should therefore avoid frying foodstuffs with a
high starch content, for example chips, at temper-
atures above 170 °C. The foodstuffs should only
be fried to golden-yellow, instead of dark or brown.
This is the only way to achieve low-acrylamide
cooking.
