7 COMMISSIONING
m
CAUTION
The commissioning and initial start-up operations
must be carried out ONLY by professionally qualified
personnel who must follow the indications provided
in the INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE INSTRUC-
TIONS.
7.1
Preliminary operations
Before commissioning the appliance, check that:
– the fuel, thermal system and water circuit valves are open
– there is sufficient fuel in the tank
– the system pressure as shown on the pressure gauge when
the system is cold , is between
1 and 1.2 bar
– the hydraulic circuit is deaerated
– the expansion vessel pre-charge is
1.0 bar
– the electrical connections have been made correctly
– the discharge pipes for the combustion by-products have
been made correctly
– the vents are adequately sized in relation to the installed pow-
er and the combustion air inlet of the burner is free (without
splits)
– start the fan only in pre-ventilation mode to fill the diesel line.
Open the purge screw of the diesel filter and deaerate (purge)
the line.
NOTE:
The negative pressure of the line MUST NOT fall below 0.4
bar.
7.2
Before commissioning
After completing the preliminary operations, start up the ther-
mal unit:
– set the room thermostat to the required temperature, or if the
system is equipped with a time programmer, check that this
is ON and set accordingly (~20° C)
– set the main system switch to "ON"
ON

– adjust the heating thermostat (1) to roughly 3/4 of the adjust-
ment range (circa 75°C)
– shift the appliance’s main switch (2) to "1" (on) and check that
the green signalling LED (3), situated on the control panel, is
lit.

The thermal unit will perform the start-up phase and remain
in function until the selected temperatures have been reached.
If any faults occur during the start-up or operation, the thermal
unit will perform a “LOCK-OUT” and the lock-out signals (4) of
the control panel and of the lock-out button (PSB) of the burner
device will both light up red.

CAUTION
– After a "LOCK-OUT", wait roughly 30 seconds before
restoring the start-up conditions (RESET).
– To reset the start-up conditions, press the burner
unlock button. Wait for the entire start-up phase to
terminate until the flame appears.
– Before starting up in pre-ventilation mode, the
burner will pre-heat the fuel for roughly 2 and a half
minutes.
