6.12 Electrical connections

thermal units require the connections
shown below, which must be carried out by the installer or by
professionally qualified personnel.
To connect the electrics:
– remove the front panel (1) to access the control panel
– loosen the screws (2) securing the control panel and turn the
latter forward to access the terminal block inside the panel
(MIQ).
The cables must enter from the thermal unit rear and must be
locked once the job has been completed with the tear-proof ca-
ble clip already fitted. Once the connections have been made,
reassemble what was previously dismantled.

Connections to be made by the installer
The electrical connections to be made include:
– power supply 230V - 50Hz with magnetothermic switch
– connection of the room thermostat (TA) or timer-controlled
thermostat, after having removed the jumper between termi-
nals 17 and 18
– if a time programmer is used, remove the bridge between
terminals 15 and 16 and connect the programmer timer-con-
trolled thermostat (CTP) to terminals 11, 12, 15 and 16.

WARNINGS
It is compulsory:
– to use an omnipolar cut-off switch, disconnect
switch, in compliance with EN standards (contact
opening of at least 3 mm)
– to respect connection L (Live) - N (Neutral)
– use cables with 1,5 mm

cross-sectional size, com-
plete with the bootlace ferrules
– to refer to the electrical diagrams in this manual for
any electrical intervention
– to connect the earth wire to an effective earthing
system (*).

– to use the water pipes to earth the appliance.
(*) The manufacturer is not responsible for any damage
caused by failure to earth the appliance or failure to ob-
serve the information provided in the wiring diagrams.
6.13 Refilling or emptying

filling device.
6.13.1 SYSTEM REFILL operations
Before carrying out filling interventions:
– check that the system’s main switch is set to “OFF”
– check that the manual relief valve and the system discharge
valve (1) are closed
– open the system filling valve (2)
– slowly charge the system until the pressure gauge (3) gives a
reading, with the system cold, of
1.2 bar
– Close the filling valve (2).

6.13.2 EMPTYING operations
Prior to performing drainage operations, check that the sys-
tem’s main switch is set to “OFF” and that the master switch of
the thermal unit is set to 0 (“off”):
– check that the water system isolation devices are closed
– connect a funnelling pipe to the system’s drainage valve (1)
and open it.
When it has fully emptied, close the valve (1).
