The figure below(Fig. 8) shows an example of a
plumbing hook-up.
Fig. 8 – Example of a water system set-up
Fig. 8a – Example of heavy-series relief valve
NOTE: an impurities filter must be
installed on the cold water inlet. The
appliance must not operate with water
with a hardness below 12°F, or vice
versa with extremely hard water
(above 25°F). A suitably calibrated and
monitored softener should be used in
this case, but the residual hardness
should not fall below 15°F.
IMPORTANT NOTE: the system installer
should install a 7-bar safety valve on
the cold water inlet (Fig. 8a).
NOTE: the overpressure device must be
operated
regularly
to
remove
limescale and ensure that it is not
blocked (Fig. 8a).
NOTE: for correct installation, a
hydraulic safety unit compliant with
UNI EN standard 1487:2002 must be
fitted at the power supply inlet. This unit
must include, as a minimum: an
isolation valve, a check valve, a
control device for the check valve, a
relief valve and a hydraulic isolation
device (Fig. 8a)
NOTE: the outlet pipe connected to the
overpressure device must be installed
at a downwards angle and in a place
that is protected from the formation of
ice (Fig. 8a)
WARNING: if an expansion vessel is
not installed, ensure that there are
no non-return valves on the cold
water inlet line.
WARNING:
The
heat
pump
for
producing domestic hot water can
heat water to over 60°C. To protect
yourself
from
burns,
install
an
automatic thermostatic mixing device
in the hot water pipe (Fig. 8).
5.5.1
Connecting the condensate outlet
The condensate that forms while the heat pump is
in operation flows through a purpose-built outlet
pipe (½”G) that passes inside the insulating casing
and emerges on the side of the appliance.
Connect it to a duct via a siphon so that the
condensate can flow as it should (Fig. 9a or Fig.
9b)
