6  WARRANTY TERMS AND

CONDITIONS AND LIMITATIONS

The warranty is only valid when the following water quality cha-

racteristics are satisfied:

–  Saturation index (Langelier): LSI > 0.1
–  Corrosivity index (C.I.): 0.5 < C.I. < 3
–  Where C.I. =

c(CI) + c(NO

3

) - 2c(SO

4

-2

)

c(HCO

3

)

 (HCO

3

)> = 2.0 mmol/l

In such case, the magnesium anode must be replaced every

year.

–  When C.I. > 3, the warranty is limited to two years and the ma-

gnesium anode must be replaced every six months.

–  For stainless steel tanks: the warranty is valid if the water used

has a chlorine saturation value of maximum 200 mg/l [c(CL-)

< 200 mg/l].

–  In areas in which the water has a saturation value of CaCO

3

ranging from 54 to 90 mg/l, we recommend using a water

softening device to prevent calcium carbonate and other cal-

cium deposits from forming. If the saturation value exceeds 90

mg/l CaCO

3

, this device is mandatory.

General terms and conditions:

The warranty takes effect from the date of installation and

initial start-up of the device.

The heating element and the thermostat are covered for a

period of two years.

Damages due to natural disasters, force majeure, earth-

quakes and extreme frost are not covered.

Damages due to improper use, incorrect installation, and

incorrect electrical wiring are not covered.

The warranty shall not apply if the appliance is installed

or subjected to maintenance by unauthorised personnel.

All parts used for maintenance and/or repairs must be ori-

ginal or equivalent.

Secondary damages caused by water leakages, etc. are

not covered.

Claims will not be covered if the warranty document has

not been filled in and a copy has not been sent to the ma-

nufacturer and/or distributor or local authorised dealer.

The warranty shall not apply if routine maintenance has

not been carried out.

10

The table of routine maintenance activities shown below

must be filled in and signed. Additional proof may be re-

quested (e.g. invoice of the works).

11

The warranty does not apply if the salinity of the water

used exceeds 500 ppm.

12

The validity period of the warranty will not be renewed if

any repairs are carried out within the period covered by

the warranty.

13

The warranty is limited to the cost for workmanship requi-

red for replacing and/or repairing the defective parts. Loss

or secondary damages are not covered.

14

The costs for transporting the defective materials, and tra-

vel and lodging expenses for technicians are not covered.

15

If continuous high temperatures are expected and the

collectors have been oversized due to the unfavourable

installation position during certain periods of the year, it

is mandatory to install a thermostatic safety valve or an

expansion vessel on the primary circuit (solar). The war-

ranty shall be voided if the thermostatic valve or expansion

vessel are not installed.

16

Routine maintenance is mandatory for the warranty to be

considered valid.
