TROUBLESHOOTING THE EQ 55
Warnings!
Warning:
The EQ 55 contains static sensitive devices Do not attempt
any servicing unless adequate anti-static and static
suppressive procedures are followed.
Danger:
The EQ 55 contains high voltage circuitry. There are no
user serviceable components inside the case. Refer
servicing to qualified personnel.
Warning:
The EQ 55 transducers are designed to operate in water.
Operation out of water can permanently damage the
transducer elements. Perform all testing with the
transducers submerged in a volume of water.
5.2.1
Power Requirements
Ensure that the EQ 55 is supplied with adequate power of the proper voltage. The
system isspecified to operate from 110 to 220 Vac.
Power consumption is approximately 135 watts.
5.2.2
Normal Start-up Responses
When the EQ 55 is turned on, the normal power up response is for the unit to
default to the Group 1 control settings.
As the unit is warming up, it is often possible to hear the high voltage "crackling"
as the CRT anode is energized.
The EQ 55 fan should begin operating.
The transmitter may be heard "ticking".
Once the picture is visible (less than 10 seconds after power up) the Main Menu
and Status
window should be visible, and data should be scrolling across the display screen.
