Powering up the FM90 for normal use
To power up the FM90, use the ON/OFF power switch on the front panel of the Power/VDSL
Unit.
Context
The ON/OFF switch on the rear panel powers up the Power/VDSL Unit. The ON/OFF
switch on the front panel powers up the Sonar Head.
Note
After powering up the FM90, there will be a brief delay before the Processor Unit discovers
the Sonar Head. The length of this delay depends on external factors, such as the length of
your third-wire trawl cable. Wait for the VDSL/STATUS light on the Power/VDSL Unit to
turn solid green before attempting to connect to the Sonar Head.
Procedure
1
Turn the Sonar Head on using the ON/OFF power switch (A) on the Power/VDSL
Unit front panel.
2
Switch the voltage selector (B) to 200 VDC.
3
Confirm that the voltage meter (C) shows 200 VDC and the current meter (D) shows
the current is less than 0.5 A.
