Recording sonar data
You can record a sonar data sequence and save it in a time-stamped digital format. You can
also re-record data during playback to capture a smaller clip of the data set.
Context
This button is located on the top bar.
Click to start recording. Click again to stop recording. This button can be used
when running the Sonar Head or when playing back a file.
Procedure

Click the
Record
button.
When recording is in progress, a flashing recording icon will appear in the top-right
corner of the net opening sonar view. In addition, the recording filename will appear
on the status bar. Observe the percentage of disk space free for recording, also on
the status bar.
Note
A “Save As” dialog box will appear if you have checked the
Prompt User for Filename
box in the
Preferences
dialog box.

Click the
Record
button again to stop recording.
Your recording will be saved under the folder “C:\KML\FM90_V0120\Recordings” by
default. You can change this save location through the
Preferences
dialog box.

You can play back a previously recorded data file to view the sonar image sequence captured
during operation of the Sonar Head.
Context
Clicking this button will allow you to play back a previously recorded sonar
session.
