1. Place a spool of thread in either Spool Compartment A 
    or B (           to           )
2. Pass the thread through the thread guide from           to

Removing the material:

1.  Turn the handwheel towards you by hand until the take- 
 

up lever is at the highest position.

2.  Pull a length of thread through the tension dial in order to
 

release the tension on the needle as shown in Diagram

3.  Lift up the presser foot lever.
4.  Gently pull the material away from the machine and cut
 

both threads as shown in Diagram

WARNING: Remove tape from all areas of the 
machine before use. Lift up spool compartment cover 
before sewing.

Preparation:

1.  Extend both top and bobbin threads towards the    
 

back of the machine.

2.  Lower the presser foot lever. Ensure there is tension  
 

on the material surface before sewing as shown in   

 Diagram

Begin Sewing:

1.  Push the on/off switch to the ON position.
2.  Step on the foot pedal to start sewing.
3.  As the sewing machine begins to stitch, use your hands  
 

to guide the material. Do not pull or push... just guide.

4.  To stop the machine, release the foot pedal.
5.  Double back the stitch to prevent unravelling. (HINT: Lift  
 

up the presser foot lever and turn the material 180 degree  

 

counter-clockwise. Next, lower the presser foot lever,  

 

press the foot pedal and continue to sew another 2 inches.)

NOTE: Always turn off the machine when not in use.

Pulling up the bobbin thread:
1.  Raise the presser foot by lifting the presser foot lever.
2.  Pull approximately 8 cm (3 inches) of top thread to the back of the machine 
3.  Slowly turn the handwheel counter clockwise until the needle enters the needle plate and 
 

comes up again. (The needle automatically picks up a loop of the bobbin thread that you can 

 

gently pull out from the presser foot.)

4.  Pass both threads under the presser foot and towards the back of the machine about 3 inches 
 

as shown in Diagram
