The
first line
shows the system used, e.g. Alpha System, ProTaper, Profile, HERO, RaCe,
etc. (on the left).
The
second line
shows the file type (on the right).
The
third line
shows the reduction ratio of the contra-angle handpiece (on the left) and the
file speed (on the right).
The
fourth line
shows a row of division marks above a scale (on the left) which proportion-
ately represent the distance from the apex of the root canal if the apex locator
is activated and
the value set for the torque (on the right) in mNm.
System:
selects a file system (

Apex locator system mode:

In this operating mode it is possible to connect the file clamp to a root canal
instrument without using the motor or the contra-angle handpiece.
To do this,
attach the mucosal electrode to the patient's lip and fasten the file clamp to
the root canal instrument (see also Section 6.3).
