root canal.
Remove the pulp residue.
The current could flow across a
metal denture.
Avoid contact or insulate with tem-
porary filling material.
The current could flow through a
proximal surface infected with caries.
Remove lesion or insulate.
Pus may be located on the apex.
This can make measurement impos-
sible.
Use a different measuring method if
possible.
It may be necessary to dry the inte-
rior of the root canal.
Moisten the canal slightly e.g. with
EDTA or Oxydol.
The file clamp or the cables of the
clamp or the mucosal electrode are
defective.
Check contacts.
The apex is larger than 0.4 mm.

Incomplete apex.

Renewed treatment of the root canal
with silver filling tips.
