SPECIAL PROCEDURES
Compass Magnetic Correction
A. General
The compass includes a ‘magnetic correction system’, which removes errors caused
by mechanical and electrical components of the aircraft.
Use the corrector key (220) to adjust the corrector shafts (Ref. Fig. 11001). The key is
turned clockwise or anti-clockwise to give approximately 30 to 35
°
of compensation. An
indication of the correction is seen from the top of the compass.

B. Adjusting The Compass - General
Before your compass can be adjusted the aircraft must be accurately aligned to the
main cardinal headings.
The use of a calibrated ‘Landing-Compass’ outside the aircraft or the use of a
‘compass rose’ on the ground, is advised. (Ref. Page Block 9001 Special tools).
NOTE: The procedures that follow can be used for information. Alternative in-house
procedures can be used if available.
