Dockside Setup
Before the
SP38
Autopilot can steer your vessel, at the minimum, you need to go through
the Drive Setup to fit the SPU drive circuit with your steering system. This is done through
the Dockside Setup
Entering Dockside Setup
When your
SP38
system is in Standby mode
,
press and hold the Power button until the
system is in Sleep mode.
Release the button and wait for 3 seconds. Press the Power button to turn on the autopilot
again. During initialization, when you see “Press
<
+
>
to Enter Dockside”, press the 2 arrow
buttons simulateneously until you see the message “Enter Dockside Setup …”.
Note
you can only enter Dockside Setup when the SPU is in Sleep mode before you press the
Power button on the
SP38
Controller. Therefore a sure way to get into Dockside Setup is
always starting from turning off the system.
The following section describes each item in the Dockside Setup menu and how to use the
menu to setup the devices directly connected to your SPU.
Note: in the follow descriptions,
Move to
means turning the knob to move the highlight line up/down
Select
means pressing the Enter button when an item is highlighted
SPU Reset
A full reset of all the
SP38
SPU’s operating parameters will be initiated when the
ENTER button is pressed and held until the word “Reset” changes to upper case
“RESET.” This change indicates that a full reset has been completed.
Resetting means that any configurations you have set (including Compass and Drive
Setup), as well as all parameter adjustments you have made, will be lost. You should
use the full-reset option only on the advice of an authorized
Sitex
service representative.
Caution! A “full reset” means that ALL of the parameters in the spu will revert back to the
default settings installed at the factory. All custom information or parameters set through
sea trials will be lost.
