If someone comes along
1.
Always be cautious to avoid dangerous situations. Flying objects can cause serious injuries.
2.
If you get disturbed by someone during work, always turn off the engine before facing to him.
The risk of white fingers and prevention:
Tingling or numb fingers are the first sign of harm caused by vibrations. After a long period, there is a risk of
suffering from “white fingers”, which manifests itself by making your fingers white, cold and numb. At first,
only one or two fingers turn white, but if you don't interrupt your work, your whole hand turns white. If your
fingers start to whiten, stop the work. If your fingers are numb, the risk of injury increases. Vibration injuries
depend on how long you work with the machine. Vibration injuries can be prevented by not exceeding your
daily work time by 2.5 m/s
2
. The vibration load of 2.5 m/s2 is equivalent to you being exposed to a constant
vibration level of:
•
2,5 m/s
2
over 8 hours
•
3,5 m/s
2
over 4 hours
•
5 m/s
2
over 2 hours
•
7 m/s
2
over 1 hours
•
10 m/s
2
over 0,5 hours
The daily vibration exposure must not exceed 5 m/s
2
. This limit is absolute and most not be exceeded. The
working value is set to 2.5.m/s
2
. Work may continue with a vibration load of between 2.5. and 5 m/s

.
Prevention
If you use vibrating equipment on a regular basis, you are at risk of developing white fingers. There are some
preventive measures you can take to avoid this syndrome.
•
Use sound ergonomic equipment that reduce vibration transference to the hands.
•
Use protective gloves that absorb vibrations.
•
Hold equipment loosely.
•
Work in short intervals with frequent breaks.
•
Keep your hands warm to keep blood flowing.
•
Avoid smoking or other drugs or substances that affect blood flow.
