To connect the headphones to the Microlog:

Connect the Headphone cable to the
USB Host/CH R/Headphone
connector on the
Microlog
.
•
Connect the headphones’ jack plug into the socket
of the Headphone cable.

The data collection screen’s title bar indicates the monitored channel and the
headphone volume (

CH:1
- enveloped acoustic, or

In the
CH:1
- enveloped acoustic setting, the operator hears the high frequency sounds
that humans cannot normally hear. To accomplish this, the signal is filtered to remove
normal audible background noise (filter range = 7
kHz
–
40 kHz), and t
hen the signal is
frequency shifted so that humans can hear the high frequency industrial sounds
associated with the early onset of mechanical faults.
Control volume and channel selection using the alphanumeric keypad as follows:
Mute
- 6 ("M") - toggle mute status for the selected channel.
Volume
- Press and hold the shift key (zero / up arrow), then press the up/down arrows
to adjust the volume from 0 to 10.
Channel
- Press and hold the shift key (zero / up arrow), then press the left/right arrows
to toggle between CH:1
-
enveloped acceleration ultrasound and CH:2
- raw unfiltered
sound.
