How to Collect Process Measurements
Manual Process Measurement Entry
Process measurements can also be entered manually. For example, you can manually
type in numeric data for readings read from machinery or control panel gauges and
indicators.
To manually enter process POINT data:
•
Use the left, right, up, and down arrow buttons to select the desired process
measurement POINT from the ROUTE list, and press an Enter button. The process
measurement data screen displays.
•
Press the
Manual
function button or start typing on the numeric keypad. The
manual entry screen displays, and any data automatically collected prior to pressing
the
Manual
function button is disregarded.
•
Use the numeric keypad to enter the appropriate reading into the text entry field. If
you make a mistake, use the
Clear
or
Bksp
(backspace) buttons to erase entered
text.
•
After correctly entering the measurement’s reading, press an Enter button. The
entered value displays on the bar indicator. A new function button becomes
available;
Edit
, and the measurement’s alarm setpoints display as arrows.
If the
Config
uration screen’s Auto Advance setting is set to
On
,
pressing Enter stores the measurement. To enter notes, use the
Notes
function button o
n the ROUTE Hierarchy screen.
Function Buttons
Manual data entry display function buttons include:

ac
ksp
ace – Deletes the entry to the left of the cursor in the text entry field, enabling
you to quickly edit the entry.
Clear
– Erases all text in the numeric text entry field.
Notes
– Accesses the
Notes
screen, allowing you to store coded notes for the POINT.
Back
–
Exits to the ROUTE mode’s ROUTE list screen without saving the measurement’s
data.
•
Press an Enter button again to store the measurement data and continue collecting
data for your ROUTE.
