Track Condition
Lift the rear of the snowmobile and support it off the ground. With
the engine
off
, rotate the track by hand, and inspect condition. If worn
or cut, or if track fibers are exposed, or if missing or defective inserts
or guides are noted; contact an authorized dealer.
Track Tension and Alignment
Tension
NOTE:
Ride the snowmobile in snow about 15 to 20 minutes prior
to adjusting track tension.
Lift rear of snowmobile and support it with a
snowmobile mechan-
ical stand
.
Allow the suspension to extend normally and check gap half-way
along slider shoe. The gap should be as given in the specification
section of this guide. If the track tension is too loose, track will have
a tendency to thump.
NOTE:
A belt tension tester (P/N 414 348 200) may be used to mea-
sure deflection as well as force applied.

WARNING
Do not operate or rotate a track if torn, damaged or excessively
worn.
