Basic Operation
1. Target Information
Power Button
—Press to power the detector on or off.
Battery Indicator
—Show the remaining battery power. Replace batteries in
time when there is only one bar left.
Target Metal Value
—Work with the Target Metal Cursor to indicate the target
metal, with ferrous (iron) targets at the left, non-ferrous targets that are thin or
with low conductivity in the middle, and thick or targets with high conductivi-
ty (e.g., thick silver) at the right.
Target Metal Cursor (Upper Line)
—All the cursors will be displayed once
powered on, but it will only make sounds for targets selected on the lower
line.
Discriminated Metal Cursor (Lower Line)
—Display the current discrimina-
tion pattern, with displayed cursors indicating selected targets and blank
cursors indicating discriminated targets.
Double Digits/P-P
—Display a value from 0 to 99 to identify targets more
precisely than the metal cursor.
Coin Depth Indicator
—Show the depth of a coin, or a target of a similar size.
Note:
Targets larger than a coin may display shallower than actual depth
while targets smaller than a coin may display deeper than actual depth.
The following sample chart displays the ranges of some commonly found
items.
The values can vary widely based upon the target's size and thickness, as
small, thin pieces of metal cannot conduct electrical current like thicker
pieces of metal. In addition, in mineralized soils, errors may appear in some
values, especially for small targets.
Note:
The double-digit is most reliable when the target is below the center of
the search coil and the coil is swept flat and at a constant height above the
ground when detecting.
