3.4) Close the runner by releasing the lever. The release button
should return to its original position on its own.
3.5) To check the reverse lock, turn the runner 180 degrees (skull
symbol can be seen) and repeat point 3.3. It should not be possible to
open the runner. Turn the runner back the right way again (the arrow
is showing and pointing upwards).
4.) Criteria for excluding the runner
The runner is worn out if:
•
Discrepancies are established in the delivery condition
•
There are rips or damage
•
The clamping (functional test) has not been achieved
•
There is considerable corrosion
•
Following a fall
The runner can be sent back to SKYLOTEC or to a service centre
named by SKYLOTEC if:
•
The shock absorber is open >4cm between the shackle and the
carabiner
•
Signs of wear are visible on the shock absorber
•
The condition of the runner is not clear
5.) Use of the follow-on fall arrest device
WARNING: Before using the climbing protection system, ensure
you have a secure footing on a platform and, in areas where
there is a risk of falling, fall arrest lanyards (e.g. EN 354 / 355) attached
to a suitable anchor point. Carry out the functional check (3)
5.1.1) Release the runner (release lever or carabiner not pressed or
pulled up). Diagram 1
5.1.2) Pull the release button and hold it briefly. Diagram 2
5.1.3) Push the release lever up as far as it will go and take your finger
off the release button. Diagram 3 (The blocking mechanism swings up
and releases the side opening of the runner completely).
5.1.4) Attach the runner to the steel cable via the side opening.
Diagram 4
5.1.5) Let go of the release lever or move down. Diagram 5 (The
blocking mechanism swings close to the cable and the release button
has to swing back)
5.1.6) Check that the release button has completely sprung back.
Diagram 6 (If necessary, push the release lever down until the release
button is back in its original position and is therefore safely locked in)
5.1.7) Carry out the functional check on the cable. (5.2) Remove the
runner in the same way as it was inserted, but in the reverse order.
The design makes it impossible to insert the runner incorrectly (back
to front) and it cannot be opened and/or attached and then closed.
