SKYLOTEC equipment and components to protect against falls
from heights match or exceed applicable European, American or
other international standards. Please read these instructions
carefully before using the product. The activities for which this
equipment is used are, by their very nature, dangerous. This
equipment should therefore only be used by someone who is
competent and who has been specially trained in how to use it. The
user accepts all responsibility for the fact that he has been fully
instructed in the correct use of this equipment, has read these
instructions, will use the equipment only in accordance with its
intended purpose and will take all required safety precautions. A
risk assessment must always be carried out before every use, and
a rescue plan for work at heights must be submitted. The
manufacturer or dealer cannot be held liable for any damage, injury
or fatalities that occur following the incorrect use of this product.
Always check the compatibility of all of the components of a safety
system with each other, and ensure the safe functioning of the
system. If you are unsure about how to use the product, contact a
suitably trainer person or contact the manufacturer. When a
complete system is supplied, individual components of the
complete system must not be replaced. The devices must not be
opened. Only SKYLOTEC and its service partners, as well as
people trained specially by SKYLOTEC (level 2), may open the
device and replace the system‘s components
3.) Use
This product is a retractable fall arrested which completely locks
the wheel as soon as a sudden downwards movement occurs
(lowering too fast, fall, loss of equilibrium), regardless of the running
direction. The product must only be used with a rope tested by
Skylotec (Fig. 2.1). The correct attachment of the guy rope is
essential for avoiding serious or even life-threatening injuries. (Fig.
2.2). An incorrectly inserted guy rope can result in serious or even
life-threatening injuries (Fig. 3.1 + 3.2 + 3.3).
The retractable fall arrester must always be attached above the
user (Fig. 2.3) and must never be climbed over (Fig. 3.4).
Before using the device, a visual and functional inspection must be
carried out (Fig. 2.4 + 2.5). First check the unit, including the full
length of the safety line, for damage (cracks, deformities, etc.).
