Installation instructions
Do not use grease!
The ladder parts are to be installed with the stop-catches facing upward on the building.
If the ascent route begins below, the rail bottoms must be maximum 140 +5 mm above the
level of entrance.
The first mounting bracket is installed at a maximum distance of 500mm from the start of the
ascent route, and the last bracket at a maximum of 500mm from end of the ascent route (=
top of rail).
The maximum spacing for mounting brackets is 1680mm.
However, 2 brackets must be installed per ladder segment.
Other installation clearances apply for ladder segments that are offset.
The guide rails are attached with two galvanised mushroom head bolts M12x30-8.8 by
means of the butt connector (TAC-0040) in order to secure a firm connection. This prevents
the rails from becoming offset. At 20°C, the gap must be at least 1 mm, but may not exceed
3 mm.
The distance between the steps may deviate at ladder transitions by +/- 5 mm at most. The
nominal dimension for the ladder is 280 mm.
The possibility of the runner moving out during installation at the upper end of the guide rail
on stationary structures must be prevented by a temporary end stop (cable tie). This may
only be removed when the ladder part above it is firmly mounted.
If the ascent route ends on a platform, then the guide rail must end at least 1000 mm above
the top of the platform.
For structural reasons, ladder projections of more than 500 mm must be fitted with a rail
reinforcement. See Figure 1.
