8. Electrical Installation
Lay all necessary DC cabling before the next steps of installation except the last meters
from the turbine (top end of tower) to the lower end of the tower (it is useful to make a
connection there). Prepare necessary cable ducts.
Set

up the electrical connection according to the wiring diagram. Check the manual for
the details. (
Picture is an example showing a main switch (green circle) and a noise con-
trol mounted in a separate box (grey circle)

Set

up the automatic storm control system according to the wiring diagram. Set the
control unit and time delay relay to the correct settings. Check the manual!
Make yourself familiar with how the electric system is supposed to work. A mistake
during the installation can lead to destruction of the wind turbine.
7. Mounting Preparation
Attach a fitting ring terminal to the end of your DC cable to ensure easy and quick
connection to the inverter later on. If you use more than a single cable make sure that
the connection is safe and durable (e.g. MC connectors).
Mark the + and the
-
pole
clearly and unmistakably!
Keep in mind: no cable connections inside the tower.
The turbine nacelle is now prepared for mounting on a suitable mast.
Write down the serial number of the SkyWind turbine. You might later need it in case of
a warranty claim.
