11.3 Setting up the storm control
Every SkyWind NG micro wind turbine must be shut off automatically once a voltage of 45 V DC is detected. Once the
automatic stop has been activated the turbine must stay shut
-
off for 60 minutes to cool down. The turbine must also
stop immediately once the AC
-
grid fails (power outage). Only with this automatic storm control system active and
working may the rotor blade be mounted to the wind turbine!
The
MARk
-
E08 time delay relay
controls the
Schrack high
-
energy relay which stops the turbine.
It must also ensure that, once the automatic storm
control has been activated, the high energy relay
does not restart the turbine before the cool
-
down
time of 60 minutes has elapsed.
The
EUW
-
C18
is the main control unit of the automa-
tic storm control system. It constantly measures the
DC operating voltage of the turbine and immediately
activates the MARk
-
E08 time delay relay once the
critical max. voltage of 45 V DC is reached. The control
unit must be set

up as described below:
