The Rotax 915 iS uses an automatic switching ECO mode, which
has a significant effect on fuel consumption. At lower altitudes,
ECO mode is activated below approximately a 80% power
setting. At higher altitudes, ECO mode is activated below
approximately a 77% power setting. MAX ECO is the power
setting just before the engine leaves ECO mode, which results in
an approximate fuel consumption change from 28 LPH to 33 LPH
in the cruise propeller setting.
