7.6 Configuring the Fallback
If the communication between the inverter and the SMA
Inverter Manager is interrupted, the inverter switches to a
previously defined operating state (Fallback). The desired
operating state when communication is interrupted, can be
activated and configured with the customer-specific grid
code file or via the LCS-Tool. For further information on the
configuration of the system fallback between the SMA
Inverter Manager and a superior control unit (e.g. SCADA
system) see installation manual of the SMA Inverter
Manager / LCS Tool.
8 Disconnecting From Voltage
Sources
Prior to performing any work on the inverter, always
disconnect it from all voltage sources as described in this
section. Always adhere to the prescribed sequence.
Additionally required equipment:
• Current clamp
• 2-pole voltage detector that does not have its own
voltage source
Procedure:
1. Disconnect the AC miniature circuit breaker from all 3
line conductors and secure against reconnection.
2. Switch off the battery.
3. Use a current clamp to ensure that no current is present
in the DC cables.
4. Wait 5 minutes before opening the inverter in order to
allow time for the capacitors to discharge.
5. Set the DC load-break switch on the inverter to
Off
and
secure against reconnection.
6. Open the installation area (see Section 5.5, page 27).
7. Use an appropriate measuring device to ensure that no
voltage is present at the AC terminal block between L1
and PE, L2 and PE, L3 and PE, L1 and L2, L2 and L3
and L1 and L3.
8. Ensure that no voltage is present at the DC inputs of the
inverter using a suitable measuring device.
