10.1.1 Status Messages
The Windy Boy produces a range of status messages, depending on the mode in which
it is currently operating. The status messages can vary, depending on the type of
communication system you are using.
Name
Explanation
derating
Overtemperature in inverter. The Windy Boy reduces its
performance to prevent the device from overheating. Check whether
the Windy Boy can be installed in a more favorable position with
better ventilation, so that sufficient heat dissipation can be
guaranteed.
Fehler / Error
An error has been detected (see section 10.2 "Error Messages"
(Page 64)).
I-Konst
Operating mode for test purposes
Off Grid
The Windy Boy is in Off Grid mode. This mode is specially
conceived for operation in a stand-alone grid with a Sunny Island
as grid controller. More information about this topic can be
obtained from the Sunny Island operating manual under the
category "Droop Mode".
MPP
The Windy Boy is operating in MPP mode. The Windy Boy takes the
highest possible power output from the PV generator. MPP is the
standard display when operating with normal solar irradiation (PV
operation only!).
Mpp Peak
The Windy Boy is operating in MPP mode above its nominal power
level (PV operation only!).
Netzueb. /
grid mon.
Testing the grid status (grid impedance), relay test, etc. This message
only appears during the startup phase, before the Windy Boy is
connected to the grid. This message mainly appears when there is
little or no wind.
Offset
Offset compensation of the measurement electronics.
Riso
Measurement of the wind turbine system's insulation resistance.
Stoer. / disturb. Fault (see table "Error Messages"). This error occurs for reasons of
safety and prevents the Windy Boy from connecting to the grid. This
status can also be set manually.
Stop
Interruption of operation after a fault. This status can also be set
manually.
Turbine Mode
Factory setting for Windy Boy inverters. The input voltage is
processed according to the programmable power curve. See
section 6 "Turbine Operation" (Page 31).
