Check the polarity of the batteries and reinstall if
necessary; replace batteries with new batteries.
Remove batteries and wait a minimum of five
minutes; reinstall batteries and attempt a new
measurement.

Replace the batteries.
Circuit is locked.
Remove and reinsert the batteries;
