4.2 Capacity Plus legacy trunking network
The topology of the dispatch system based on the SmartPTT software in the Capacity Plus Legacy trunking
network without the use of the MOTOTRBO Network Application Interface protocol (hereinafter the NAI protocol) is
called Capacity Plus Legacy. The following figure shows the typical topology:
Fig. 12 Capacity Plus netw ork in Legacy m ode: connection via the pool of the rem ote control stations
In Capacity Plus Legacy, the radioserver is directly connected to repeaters via an IP network. Repeaters transmit
voice calls (both Group Calls and Private Calls) and data received from subscribers to the radioserver over the IP
network.
The radioserver transmits control commands and voice calls from dispatchers to subscribers via a pool of remote
control stations (in the given example it consists of 4 units) connected to several RG-1000e s.
The number of remote control stations depends on the required number of simultaneous dispatcher calls. The
number of remote control stations must not exceed the number of trunking voice channels (in the given example,
4) in the Capacity Plus network.
For more information on control station configuration in the Capacity Plus Legacy mode, see "MOTOTRBO
SYSTEM PLANNER" (the “System Topologies” chapter), "Capacity Plus Deployment Guide" (MO
SmartPTT), and "SmartPTT Radioserver Configurator" software help file.
