INSTALLATION
Locate the splitter cable that is included with your SmartRG gateway. It has three ports.
1. Connect one end of an Ethernet cable to the wall jack installed by your service provider. Connect the
other end to the
WAN
port on the gateway.
2. Connect one end of an Ethernet cable to a
LAN
port on the gateway. Connect the other end to the
Ethernet
port on your PC.
3. Plug the power adapter to the wall outlet and then connect the other end of it to the
Power
port of the
gateway.
4. Turn on the unit by pressing the
Power
button on the side of the gateway.
Your gateway is now automatically being set up to connect to the Internet. This process may take a few minutes to
complete before you can begin using your Internet applications (browser, email, etc.).
Notes
:
l
If you use 3G WAN service, connect the 3G USB data card to the
USB
port of the gateway.
l
If you use DSL service, connect the supplied phone cable to a phone wall jack and the other end to the
DSL
port on
the gateway.
l
You cannot use the xDSL uplink, 3G WAN service, and Ethernet uplink at the same time.
If you are unable to connect to the Internet, confirm that all cable connections are in place and the gateway’s
power is turned on.
