5.3.5.1 Manual addressing
Each slave in a FLxIO bus must have its address, which can be modified in a very easy way. To this purpose,
the servo-drive is equipped with a rotary switch (on the front panel), with 16 different positions (from 0 to F, in
hexadecimal notation). The address can be set by means of a flat-head screwdriver. The following table shows
the correspondence between decimal and hexadecimal values:
Addresses 0 and F can not be used; on the same bus each device must have a different address. The Cosmos
302X, being a double inverter, uses two addresses simultaneously: the one set via the rotary switch and the
next one. For example, by setting the rotary switch to 1, both address 1 and 2 will be used in the bus; by setting
the rotary switch to E, the address E and F will be used, and so on.
The presence of two devices with overlapping addresses causes communication problems and could lead to
uncontrolled system behavior.
It is important to specify that the physical address does not correspond to the logical address.
