OBD-II/EOBD
This Home screen option allows you to access Generic OBD-II/EOBD Scanner tests without
completing a vehicle identification. This presents a quick way to check for emissions-related
diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs), isolate the cause of an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp
(MIL), check monitor status prior to emissions certification testing, verify repairs, and perform a
number of other emissions services. Also use OBD-II/EOBD for testing OBD-II compliant vehicles
that are not included in the Scanner databases.
The Data Cable must be connected to the test vehicle and communicating with the electronic
control module (ECM) because OBD-II/EOBD is a Scanner function. Remember, only generic
OBD-II information is available. You must select from the Vehicle Manufacturers Menu for
enhanced OBD-II functions.
Two options are available after OBD-II/EOBD is selected on the Home screen:

The OBD-II Health Check offers a way to quickly check for and clear emissions-related diagnostic
trouble codes (DTCs), and to check readiness monitors for emissions testing. Selecting opens a
