OBD-II/EOBD
This Home screen option allows you to access Generic OBD-II/EOBD Scanner tests without
completing a vehicle identification. This option presents a quick way to check for diagnostic
trouble codes (DTCs), isolate the cause of an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL), check
monitor status prior to emissions certification testing, verify repairs, and perform a number of other
services that are emissions-related. OBD-II/EOBD is also used for testing OBD-II compliant
vehicles that are not included in the Scanner databases.
OBD-II/EOBD is a Scanner function, and the scan tool must be connected to the test vehicle and
communicating with the display device. Keep in mind, this function provides generic OBD-II
information only. Select from the Vehicle Manufacturers Menu for enhanced OBD-II functions.
Selecting OBD-II/EOBD on the Home screen opens a menu with two options:
•
