Speed Balancing Adjustment
If the unit veers to the right or left when the ground
speed control levers are in either the maximum
forward (both ground speed control levers contacting
the handle bars) or reverse position (both ground
speed control levers contact the top speed adjustment
bolts), the top speed of the ground speed control
levers can be adjusted. Only adjust the speed of the
wheel that is travelling faster.
To reduce the forward speed of the faster wheel:
1. Remove the motion control guard to gain access
to the speed adjustment rods (
B, Figure 29
)
2. Loosen the jam nuts (
A
) on the speed adjustment
rod for the wheel that is travelling faster.
3. Turn the speed adjustment rod COUNTER-
CLOCKWISE to reduce the speed of the wheel.
4. Retighten the jam nuts when the adjustment is
complete.
To reduce the reverse speed of the faster wheel:
1. Loosen the securing nut (
A, Figure 30
).
2. Turn the top speed adjustment bolt (
B
)
COUNTER-CLOCKWISE to reduce the speed.
3. Retighten the securing nut when adjustment is
complete.
