5 Clock Sources
5.3 Internal Clock Generator
The internal clock generator is the most accurate of the clock sources. Using a special “catch 22” the
ACME-4 is able to generate the internal clock without any jitter at all. To our knowledge the ACME-4
is the only device in the world to generate 100% jitter-free midi clocks.
The internal clock generator is started by pressing the grey push-button. It will only start if no ex-
ternal clock signal is received. While it is running the external clock sources are disabled.
The function of the rotary memory/tempo control will automatically jump to “Tempo” as indicated
by the LED below. Turning the control adjusts the clock tempo in steps of one BPM. Upon startup the
internal speed is set to 120 BPMs. Btw, tempo settings are store together will all other settings in the
program memories.
Pressing
will switch the function of the rotary control to “Memory”. As long as the control
has not been moved (the Recall LED does not flash), pressing Recall again will take you back to
Tempo mode. When in
, the control always serves to adjust the tempo.
