the gas cylinder is replaced.
Operation

WARNING!
Do not attempt to operate the fire pit until
you have read and understood all precautions. Failure to do so
can result in property damage, serious injury, or death.
m
WARNING!
The gas fire pit should be thoroughly
inspected before each use.
• Be sure all gas connections are tight and there are no leaks.
• Be sure the access panel is clear of debris.
• Be sure any component removed during assembly or
servicing is replaced and fastened prior to starting.
• Inspect the hose before each use of the appliance. The
hose assembly must be replaced if there is evidence of
damage, excessive abrasion or wear. The replacement hose
assembly shall only be that specified by the manufacturer.

DANGER!
Always wait at least 5 minutes to relight a
hot gas fire pit.
m
WARNING!
In the event of a gas leakage:
1. Press down and turn the control knob to the "OFF"
position.
2. Turn the propane cylinder valve until fully closed.
3. Wait 5 minutes to allow gas to dissipate.
4. If odor continues, leave area immediately.
5. Call your local fire department.
Lighting
1. Make sure the control knob is in the "OFF" position.
2. Turn propane cylinder valve until fully open.
3. Press down on the control knob and turn it
counter-clockwise to the "IGNITE/LOW" position
to light the burner (Fig. 8).

4. If the burner is lit, keep pressing down on the control knob
for 10 seconds before releasing it.

DANGER!
If at any time you are unable to light the
burner after 1 minute, press down on the control knob and turn
clockwise to the "OFF" position. Then wait 5 minutes to allow
flammable vapors to dissipate before attempting to light the
fire pit.
5. Once the burner is lit, turn the control knob to the desired
heat between "IGNITE/LOW" and "HIGH".
NOTE: The burner flame is normally yellow. If the flame is
blue and very small, please check the gas cylinder as it
may be low on pressure or empty. If this is not the case,
please call the Snow Joe
®
+ Sun Joe
®
customer service
center at 1-866-SNOWJOE (1-866-766-9563) to replace
the burner.
If the flames lift away from the burner, backfires, or
produces thick black smoke, the fire pit should be turned
off immediately and should not be operated again until the
unit is serviced by a qualified service technician.

CAUTION!
Avoid inhaling fumes emitted from the gas
appliance's first use. Smoke and odor from the burning of oils
used in the manufacturing will appear. Both smoke and odor
will dissipate after approximately 30 minutes. The appliance
should not produce thick black smoke.
6. Press down and turn the control knob clockwise to the
"OFF" position to turn off the fire pit.

The gas supply must be turned off at the
propane cylinder valve when not in use.
