unplugged, and the blades have come to a complete stop

before inspecting, cleaning, or servicing the unit.

m

Connecting the Handles

NOTE: Reference to right or left side of the tiller is determined

from behind the unit in the operating position. The "operating

position" is defined as standing directly behind the tiller.

NOTE: Small parts can easily get lost during assembly or when

making adjustments to the machine. To avoid this, secure all

small parts that are removed from the box or machine and

keep them accessible.

1.  Slide the right-hand grip and left-hand grip into the plastic

cross plate by matching the holes in the back of the grips

with the holes in the back of the cross plate (Figs. 1 – 3).

NOTE: Use a phillips-head screwdriver. Aligning the holes

may be difficult. We recommend fastening one hand grip

at a time to the cross plate.
