ATTENTION
To comply with the IP68 protection class take appropriate measures to ensure
that the connectors are protected from bending forces (e.g., do not hang loads
on cables, do not leave the cable rewind hanging etc.)
ADVICE
1.
According to Directive 94/9/EC (ATEX 95) Appendix I, the RST 20i2…- i3…
installation connectors are devices in Device Group II Category 3G which,
according to Directive 99/92/EG (ATEX 137), may be used in Zone 2 and in
gas groups IIA, IIB and IIC, which are potentially explosive with inflammab-
le substances in temperature classes T1 to T6. The requirements of
EN 60079-14 must be met during use/installation.
2.
According to Directive 94/9/EC (ATEX 95) Appendix I, the RST 20i2…- i3…
installation connectors are also devices in Device Group II Category 3D
which, according to Directive 99/92/EG (ATEX 137), may be used in Zone
22 of combustible dust. During use/installation the requirements of EN 61
241-14 must be met.
3.
The permissible ambient temperature range is -20°C to +40°C.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS X
1.
The RST 20i2…- i3… installation connectors may only be installed where
they are protected from mechanical influence.
2.
Plug and socket components which are not required must be locked with
the appropriate locking pieces.
3.
The cables and conductors connected to the RST 20i2…- i3… installation
connectors must be protected from mechanical influence. In addition, the
installer/operator must ensure there is adequate strain relief for the con-
nected cables and conductors.
4.
If the conductor cross-section is > 2.5mm
2
and the ambient temperature
is up to a maximum of 70 °C, the RST20i3 installation connectors may be
used as device connections and initial connections using screws with a
maximum load current of 9.4 A.
5.
Maintenance and cleaning may only be carried out when there is no
explosive atmosphere.
Creating an electrostatic charge on the RST 20i2…- i3… installation con-
nectors, e.g., by wiping away dust, must be avoided.
