Other inverters with Sunspec protocol
(as of firmware 4.2.0)
Even if the manual for a manufacturer does not explicitly have information for the recognition selection via the
Sunspec protocol, it is generally still possible to implement this. „Solar-Log“ has to be selected as the manufacturer
and the „Sunspec“ as the type.
The following interfaces are available: RS485 and Ethernet.
The baud rate has to be explicitly defined. The following selection options are possible:
•
2400
•
4800
•
9600
•
19200
•
57600
•
115200
The wiring depends on the manufacturer and model.
It is important to note the following on the Solar-Log™ RS485 side:
•
1 Data+
•
4 Data+
•
3 GND
Refer to Chapter 1 „Connections“ for more information.
Special inverter instructions, such as activating the Sunspec protocol, are manufacturer specific. (Refer to the
manufacturer‘s manual).
Requirements
Compliance to the Sunspec standard is a basic prerequisite to ensure that communication via the Sunspec proto-
col works. This requirement is usually fulfilled when there is a Sunspec certification for each inverter module (ask
the manufacturer).
►
Sunspec information is available at
In the following list contains the models required (based on the Sunspec specification) to implement data recor-
ding, and active and reactive power control with the Solar-Log™.
