Signal Level (-dBm).
The detected signal level for the port.
Noise Level (-dBm).
The detected noise level for the port.
Signal/Noise (dB).
The signal to noise ration.
Rcv Timeouts/sec.
The rate of receiver timeouts.
This screen is useful in finding out how much noise may be on your RF link. You
can also see if your receiver is constantly timing out. Monitoring this status screen
will allow you to more quickly solve any problems with your RF link you may
have run into.
ALC/ADC
Automatic Level Control (ALC) is used to periodically adjust the output power to
the target output power if it has changed due to environmental or configuration
changes (temperature, antenna, user added attenuation). It also ensures the unit
output power complies with the rules and mandates of the FCC, and other
regulatory bodies. To access this screen, type “
.1234
” and press Enter.
Settings changeable by users are:
User Added Attenuation.
This setting is used if the maximum output power is
not wanted due to a customer's particular site requirements. For example, the
customer has a short link, and doesn't need full power.
ALC Transmit Power Check Timeout.
This setting is the interval between the
ALC checks and adjustments.
Ethernet
Monitoring the Ethernet activity on your SkyWay Series wireless network consists
of two parts:
•
Monitoring the Ethernet Port Status
•
Monitoring the Ethernet Transceiver Status
The following two sections describe the screens and fields for monitoring Ethernet
activity.
